It's been a while since I've put it all out there to let you know a little bit more about me, my family, and my background! Keep reading to learn more about the origin of Hleap Nutrition, the team, and the services we offer!

My name is Claudia Hleap-Knight and I am a Registered Dietitian, Nutritionist, and Certified Diabetes Educator.

I am passionate about providing education on the  principles of nutrition and decision making  to help you learn, make sustainable changes, and achieve your wellness goals!

Meet Freddy, head of IT, Marketing, and Advertising

Meet my husband, Freddy, who helps with everything IT related, since I can barely turn on a computer without it crashing...

My Background

I grew up as a first-generation American, with parents from Colombia and South Africa. I’ve always been surrounded by different foods and cultures, and have learned to understand and appreciate how the two can come together while supporting health and wellness goals.

I’ve always had a passion for food science, neuroscience, psychology, cooking, and educating, which I have merged into a career in dietetics and nutrition counseling.

My mission is to provide meaningful and actionable nutrition education to help you meet your health goals, whether they are related to weight, fitness, health conditions, or anything in between.

What can we work on together?

Weight Management

Diabetes | Pre-Diabetes | Gestational Diabetes

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)

Pre-pregnancy | Fertility | Pregnancy | Post-Partum

High Cholesterol

High Blood Pressure

Overall Health and Wellness

Other nutrition-related concerns

Not quite ready to work one-on-one with a dietitian? Would you prefer a self-study option?

If you learn best with self-study, we currently offer a virtual Nutrition 101 Course!

In this course, I cover the major topics that I typically review in my first 1-2 sessions with a new patient.

This course is self paced, so you can work on it in your own time. It’s a great first step if you want to get started on your own and then work with me once you have already learned the foundations of our approach to nutrition.
