In this article posted by LiveStrong, the author discusses which foods a person is most likely to overeat and which foods to choose instead.

What it comes down to is that sugar-sweetened beverages and other simple and refined carbohydrates are broken down very quickly in the body and are unlikely to leave you feeling full for long. This makes it that much for likely for you to overeat in the near future.

Focus on prioritizing high protein and fiber foods in your diet whenever possible. These are foods that are evidence based to be more satisfying in the long run. By eating a high fiber and protein diet, you'll be setting yourself up to be more full and satisfied from your meals and therefore, snack less often.
